Amity Educational Foundation has opened a community centre in Ilford. The event was a great success, very well attended by local people of a range of cultural backgrounds. Speeches were given by Mr Hakan Bayram, Director of the Centre, Cllr Chris Cummins, Mayor of Redbridge, Mike Gapes MP, PCSO Mike Welch and Mehmet Cakmak, a local businessman and Centre donor. Local volunteers provided refreshments worthy of this celebratory occasion and guests enjoyed food and a chance to meet each other after the speeches. Here are the pictures (click for larger image).
